USC Aiken’s coach Vanderslice hosts annual kids camp
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re very fortunate to have two Division II basketball programs on each side of the CSRA.
It makes it easy for future Pacers and Jaguars to get a taste of what their future could look like.
On Wednesday, those who are typically in the stands watching got a chance to play like a Pacer.
USC Aiken basketball coach Mark Vanderslice is holding his annual kids camp.
NAHS athletic complex nears completion while Wagener-Salley just begins
As of Tuesday night, the long-awaited completion of the North Augusta High School Athletic Complex is finally within sight.

From 6-year-olds to 16-year-olds, participants were able to come out and learn the fundamentals of the game, picking up some shooting, rebounding and handling tips.
“To be able to see some of these kids in the crowd when we actually play, just setting the example now and teaching them. The work starts now, and they’ll see it when it comes to the season,” said Mason Grant, Guard/forward for USC Aiken basketball, camp leader.
“They’re still young and impressionable, so you can teach them a lot of things, and they’re easy to soak up and develop,” said Grant.
Even if playing for the Pacers is not necessarily in the future, it can still provide some life skills.
“One day in life, I want to become a scientist,” said Vaughn Allen, Pacer camper. “Basketball helps because it helps coordinate teamwork and everything.”
