SARDIS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The City of Sardis has issued a boil water advisory to all residents within the city limits, we learned on Thursday.

The city’s istration says this is due to a broken water main.

Now that the new hurricane season is here, Georgia officials are reminding the public how to prepare – although local residents probably don’t need any reminding.

All water supplied from the city should be boiled for at least two minutes prior to drinking or using it to cook with.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, the Sardis Police Department said that the city was working on repairing a major water leak on Ellison Bridge Road.

The police department said it was aware of some residents experiencing low water pressure.
