Deputies try to lure bobcat out of home with laser pointers on the end of their tasers: ‘Cats are all the same’
KEN CARYL, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – Deputies in Colorado tried to lure a bobcat out of a house by using the laser pointers on the end of their tasers.
On Wednesday, in a video posted to X, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a home in Ken Caryl, near Denver.
Deputies say the bobcat wandered into the home and cozied up on a high shelf in the living room by the TV.
In the bodycam video, the homeowner is seen directing deputies to the cat, saying it was on the shelf behind a plant.
That’s when one deputy gets an idea.
“Hi, kitty kitty,” the deputy says. “I’m gonna see if he chases the laser. I don’t know, cats like lasers.”
“It’s not a normal cat,” the homeowner responds.
“Cats are all the same! They all like the same thing,” the deputy says.
“You guys are hilarious,” the homeowner says.
Ultimately, the homeowner was right – the bobcat was “not impressed” by the laser, according to the sheriff’s office.
The animal remained unfazed and stayed put.
The sheriff’s office said the bobcat eventually left on its own, right out the open back door.
“Guess some intruders just aren’t dazzled by our high-tech tricks,” the sheriff’s office wrote in the X post.
