SRP Park transforms into a classroom for Education Day
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Tuesday was a fun day outside the classroom for kids over at SRP Park!
The GreenJackets hosted Education Day, which is an experience designed specifically for students.
Contests, prizes, educational tables to visit, plus baseball, all in one spot.
Finding Solutions: Triple Crown Golf Classic s 2 local non-profits
On Monday, golfers took to Woodside Country Club for the annual Triple Crown Golf Classic, which s two local non-profits.
Teachers are even given an Education Day packet, which is full of math, science and history activities for students to do.
For a lot of these schools, it’s not their first time coming to Education Day.
“It’s always very well organized,” said Jessica Cagle, with Horse Creek Academy.”The kids enjoy it, it’s a fun day in the spring when testing time is on the rise that we have somewhere to take the kids and somewhere to relax and have a good day.”
Finding Solutions: Women Build program set to build 14th home
They’re a part of Habitat for Humanity and since 2005, a large group of female volunteers have been constructing homes for families.
The next education day will be Tuesday, May 6, where the GreenJackets will go up against the Hickory Crawdads.
The gates open at 9:30 a.m.
