GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 54-year-old man has been arrested after he was accused of shooting another man in the foot, according to deputies.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the 100 block of Hollingsworth Drive in reference to a shooting.

A witness told deputies the shooting happened on the 1100 block of Dodge Lane, according to the incident report.

Deputies say once they arrived on scene at Dodge Lane, they spoke to witnesses, who say a man was shot in the right foot.

According to the incident report, the victim arrived at a home on Dodge Lane to drop off clothes.

Witnesses told deputies 54-year-old Regis Costabile arrived to the home shortly after the victim, according to deputies.

The incident report states Costabile and the victim got into a verbal argument.

Costabile received a shotgun from his truck, pointed it at the victim and shot him in the right foot, according to the report.

The incident report states a witness on scene drove the victim from Dodge Lane to Hollingsworth Drive, where they called law enforcement.

Deputies say Costabile fled the scene of the shooting, but was later located on Old Augusta Highway. He was taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff’s office says Costabile is charged with aggravated assault, pointing or aiming a firearm at another and drug related charges.

His bond is set at $43,600, according to jail reports.
