PaceLine celebrates 2024 fundraising season; kicks off new year

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Georgia nonprofit PaceLine celebrated its 2024 fundraising season and looked toward the future, kicking off the launch of PaceDay 2025 registration.

There are new options this year. The walk and run options were added. Providing more ways for people to get involved and raise money for the non-profit’s cancer research.

Officials said $252,710 was raised last year despite Hurricane Helene and other challenges.

On Thursday, the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center at Augusta University hosted its sixth pitch competition.

Those issues canceled their two main fundraising activities. But they are looking towards PaceDay in October to help the community.

“We’re all about ing businesses and communities together around that one goal. Setting the pace together to end cancer and the wonder of what we do is all of the funds, 100% of all the wonderful fundraising that goes on, goes directly back into our Georgia cancer center here in Augusta,” said Marytn Jones, PaceLine president.
