Local firefighters head to Pickens County to help with wildfires

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two GVW firefighters, along with other local firefighters, are headed to Pickens County to assist with fighting the Table Rock fires.
On Facebook, the departments asked for prayers for safety.
News 12′s sister station in Greenville reported a fire at the top of the mountain in Table Rock State Park was caused by a negligent act by four teenage hikers on March 21.
Several agencies are working to battle the fires as it burns through more than a thousand acres and is still 0% contained.
So far, officials there have ordered mandatory evacuations for some areas near the flames.
