Annual CSRA Heart Ball helps raise money for heart disease
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Friday, the annual CSRA Heart Ball was held to help raise money for heart disease.
The American Heart Association hosted the event at the Augusta Marriott Convention Center.
News 12′s Zayna Haliburton was in attendance as an emcee, as well as other News 12 staff.

Heart disease and stroke cause one in three deaths among women each year and is the top cause of death for women in Georgia.

“Through the Heart of CSRA Heart Ball campaign, we celebrate our collective success in driving change, funding science and improving health outcomes for everyone, everywhere,” said the American Heart Association’s website.
Friday is also Wear Red Day, which raises awareness of cardiovascular disease, which is the number one killer of women.
