Evans man accused of exposing himself in Patriots Park
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Evans man has been arrested on a charge of exposing himself at a local park – and it may not be the first time, according to authorities.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Zachary Matthews, 36, was arrested on two misdemeanor counts of public indecency - first or second conviction.
On Saturday morning, the victim was running on a path at Patriots Park on Columbia Road when she noticed a white four-door truck maneuvering around the area slowly. At one point, it stopped in the crosswalk, blocking it completely, according to deputies.
Suspect arrested on charges of rape and kidnapping in Richmond County
A suspect has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault that happened Friday night, according to officials.

The driver’s door opened and a man exposed himself with his shorts pulled down, deputies wrote in a report. He was leaning back so his face couldn’t be seen, deputies said.
The victim ran away and called 911.
Deputies said they were able to view footage on traffic cameras to get the truck’s license plate number.
Deputies say when they went to Matthews’ home and asked if he’d been to the park, he said he’d rather not talk about it.
Columbia County man charged with felony sexual exploitation of children
A man has been charged with felony sexual exploitation of children after allegedly ing lewd photos, according to arrest warrants.

Deputies said they soon realized the case was similar to one they’d earlier but not been able to solve because they couldn’t track down the suspect’s truck, as it had paper tags.
However, they reviewed Matthews’ wife’s social media s and found she’d written on Facebook around the same time, “My hubby got himself a big present today!” along with two photos of Matthews and a truck.
After reviewing the photos and details from both cases, deputies said they determined the truck and offender were the same in each case.
Man convicted in Augusta murder over a cigarette lighter
Frederick McNeal was convicted of felony murder and a firearm violation, according to District Attorney Jared Williams.

Matthews was taken into custody and transported to Columbia County jail, according to deputies. Jail records didn’t show him as still being there Monday afternoon.
