AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Food insecurity still remains a problem in our area in 2025.

That’s why organizations like the Grace Place Mission Center exist.

They provide a number of resources outside of just food to help those who need it.

They’re now finding solutions in how they can expand on what they already do.

“Sometimes if we’re busy we can run out of green beans or eggs, but we can never run out of the grace of God and I think the name reflects that.”

Grace Place Mission Center is getting ready to hit its two year anniversary.

“When we opened in March of 2023, the first month we were opened we had 5-10 families come in,” said Greg Mason, director of Grace Place Mission Center. “Last year we served almost 11,000 people in the community.”

It’s a place that offers food, clothes, and a monthly senior food box program.

Mason says because of the growth, they are moving to a new permanent location.

“The need has grown beyond the space we have here and there are other things we would like to do,” said Mason. “So we are going to be moving to a location on Old Evans road only a couple miles from here hopefully in March of this year and we will be able to serve the community better there too.”

Mason says with more space, they will also be able to offer bible study classes.

“We also like to be able to help people with spiritual needs and give away bibles and devotionals,” Said Mason. “We offer to pray with people and offer the counsel that we can. So many of life’s issues are not easily answered.”

If you’re in need of help, they are open weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

They’re located at 3560 Riverwatch Parkway.
