Funeral services announced for Apalachee High School shooting victims
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Funeral plans have been announced for the victims killed last week in the mass shooting at Apalachee High School.
Two teachers and two students died in the shooting: Cristina Irimie, Richard Aspinwall and 14-year-olds Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo.

The memorial service for Mason Schermerhorn will be held at the Jefferson Civic Center, located at 65 Kissam Street in Jefferson, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.
Attendees are asked to wear red, Schermerhorn’s favorite color, according to his obituary. In lieu of flowers, mourners are asked to make donations to his family to help them as they continue to grieve.
“He enjoyed playing on his video games and his favorite was Kingdom Hearts,” Schermerhorn’s obituary says. “He loved Disney World and LEGOs and he loved his family most of all.”
Irimie’s funeral will be held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens, located at 3481 Hamilton Mill Road in Buford, starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. A viewing will take place at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.
‘All too late’: Shooting survivor speaks on murder suspect’s arrest
On Monday, we broke the news about a murder suspect’s criminal past, along with disturbing details about the murder of a local mother over the weekend. But we found a similar case from 2016.

“Cristina was a remarkable parishioner and a dedicated individual, ionate about Romanian culture and traditions,” the Saints Constantin and Helen Romanian Orthodox Church’s website says. “A math teacher at Apalachee High School in Winder, GA, she was the first victim of an act that is difficult to comprehend.”
Christian Angulo’s funeral service will take place at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, located at 25 Wilkins Road SW in Winder at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday, Sept. 19, starting at 8 p.m.
A celebration of life service was held for Richard Aspinwall on Sunday at the Flowery Branch High School football stadium.
