Fastball, Georgia Muldrow to perform at Arts in the Heart
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Arts in the Heart of Augusta has announced two big names as part of its music lineup this year.
Thanks to a partnership with Destination Augusta, the festival will feature platinum-selling Austin alt-rock band Fastball on the Global Stage on Sept. 21 and jazz sensation Georgia Muldrow on the Jazz Stage.
Fastball has a career highlighted by chart-topping successes of 1990s hits “The Way” and “Out of My Head.” The band is looking forward to bringing fans its album “Sonic Ranch,” out June 21, as well as old favorites.

Golden Harvest Food Bank announced on Wednesday that a 32-thousand dollar grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation will its programs to more effectively reach children and families facing hunger in its 25 counties across Georgia and South Carolina.

Jazz performer Georgia Anne Muldrow is an electronic musician, activist, vocalist/ songwriter and producer. Her “Overload” album was nominated for a 2020 Grammy, and she’s collaborated with famed musicians, including Robert Glasper, Adrian Younge, Ambrose Akinmursire, Justin Brown’s Nyeusi, and Keyon Harrold. Jyoti is a name bestowed upon her by the late great Alice Coltrane.
Arts in the Heart of Augusta will be Sept. 20-22 on Telfair Street with more than 150 juried artists.
Five stages of entertainment will include genres from hip-hop to jazz to rock.
The global food village will feature the cuisine of China, Cyprus, Greece, , India, Ireland, , Italy, Laos, Samoa, South Sudan, Sudan, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Lebanon, Trinidad, Philippines, Latin America and Jamaica.
Advance $15 festival badges will be available online in July.
