Augusta astronaut makes appearance for annual city meeting

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta’s home-grown Astronaut Susan Kilrain was back in town on Thursday night.
She was the keynote speaker at the annual meeting for the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Kilrain is an Augusta native who went on two space shuttle flights and is only one of three women to pilot a shuttle.
She is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School and has flown over 30 different types of aircraft.
