AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Salvation Army is kicking off the new year with a hygiene drive.

The Center of Hope is asking for soap products, razors, lotion, shampoo and toiletries.

“We meet with our social services team at the beginning of the year to go over what our biggest needs are. So, when we schedule drives like this, this is what we’re seeing a big need for,” said Janelys Villalta with the Salvation Army.

You can donate a small bag or bring individual items. Donations can be dropped off at the Kroc Center, the Center of Hope, or any of the Salvation Army’s stores.

They can also be dropped off at local restaurant Tacocat, 208 10th St.

In addition to serving as a drop-off site, the restaurant will host a Spirit Night on Jan. 18 from 5-8 p.m. During this event, 10% of all food sales will be donated to the Salvation Army of Augusta.

The toiletry drive is being held for the entire month of January.
