AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An electric plane stopped by the Augusta Regional Airport on Tuesday for a charge.
Several agencies and commissioners were on hand to see the Vermont-based electric aerospace company make a stop at the airport to charge its electric alia aircraft.
The alia is on a 1,500-mile trip down the east coast, on its way to Florida.
“We were able to fly in, plug our aircraft in. We charged it for about an hour and that is basically our refueling process,” said Emma Davis, flight test engineer.
There’s no fuel on the aircraft. It relies only on electricity.
